Andrew Giuliani's bid to sue Duke University for kicking him off its golf team ended in the rough this week. A magistrate judge recommended dismissal of his case with a series of slicing golf jokes.
"[Giuliani] contends that all elements for a breach of contract were properly alleged. His analysis, however, slices far from the fairways," U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Wallace W. Dixon wrote.
The former mayor's son sued Duke last summer, arguing that he was promised "lifetime access" to Duke's golf facilities by ex-coach Rod Myers, but that new coach Orrin Vincent III booted him from the team following a "bizarre scheme."
Duke pushed back, arguing that Giuliani had in fact been kicked off because of a series of angry outbursts, including breaking a club, "gunning" the engine of his car, throwing an apple at the face of former teammate and being disrespectful to a trainer.
Wasn't there some adult around to tell this kid that suing his school wouldn't turn out good for him?
